Driving Digest – Nottinghamshire & South Yorks area

Saturday 2nd April was our first drive of the season around Osberton Estate which was a success as always. Six turnouts enjoyed the picturesque surroundings all driven on the private roads and tracks of the estate, so no traffic to contend with which is real bonus. Thank you to Malcolm for organising this drive for us.
The Nottinghamshire County Show saw several area members taking part, I must congratulate them all especially my husband who took the overall championship with Mike Clark’s Welsh cob Newydd Beau.
On Sunday the 22nd May, Joy and John Beard organised the drive from Carlton on Trent. Five turnouts enjoyed the route which included several miles of tracks and a little on the roads. The drive was followed by tea and cakes, we have to say a big thank you to Joy’s son Henry who kindly allowed us to use his yard to park in, he led the drive and then we sat in his garden to enjoy the tea and cakes. So THANK YOU Henry and his wife Rachel.
I was unable to attend the Little Carlton Drive on the 12th June but Joy tells me there were four turnouts and they had a lovely drive and only saw a little rain. A big  thank you Joy and John for organising these lovely drives.

I must also take this opportunity to congratulate my husband with Newydd Beau again on gaining his Horse of the Year Show qualification at the South of England Show taking the show championship, well done Malcolm. Not to be out done I gained my HOYS qualification with Brynllwyn Quick Flash at the Aintree International Show, so there may be a little family rivalry there !!
