IT'S MADAM CHAIRMAN AT
THE BRITISH DRIVING SOCIETY

For the first time in its fifty-seven year history The British Driving Society has confirmed the appointment of a woman - Angela Sixsmith -  as Society Chairman.  She is joined by Cornishman, Brian Ball, in his new role as Vice-Chairman.

Angela has been a member of the BDS for forty years during which time she has undertaken many roles for the Society including a ten year stint as East Anglia/Norfolk Area Commissioner.  A member of Council for four years, she has been a BDS judge for over thirty, is currently Chairman of the Awards Board, and for the past nine months has been Chairman of the Finance & Administration Committee overseeing the move of the BDS office to its new address.

On taking up her appointment Angela said "I am very proud to be the first woman to chair the BDS, and  I look forward to working with Brian, Council and all those who share my interest in carriage driving in general and the Society in particular.  I intend to try and visit as many BDS Areas as I can to meet members and hear their views.  Finally I would like to take this opportunity of thanking the President, John Parker, for all the extra work he has undertaken for the Society this year."

John Parker 2/5/14

Firstly, may I make it quite clear that

THERE HAVE BEEN NO CHANGES WHATSOEVER TO THE BDS INSURANCE POLICY

KBIS, who have been the BDS insurers for the past three years, attended Council on 19th March 2014 to clarify the terms of the insurance policy, which was negotiated with them by Richard Lanni when he first became Chairman.
