The BDS Sponsors 200 Club

The BDS Sponsors 200 Club was launched at the BDS AGM to raise money by way of sponsorship for the Annual BDS Show at Smith’s Lawn and Driving Towerlands to secure the future of both Shows. It will be administered by Mrs Jo Halnan-Blackwell, who will be directly responsible to the BDS Finance Committee. The initial target will be 200 members.

Draw numbers will be sold at £25 per draw number per annum, payable by cheque from the 1st November each year. Cheques to be made payable to “The British Driving Society" and sent to

Prizes will be dependent upon the number of members of the BDS Sponsors 200 Club (the more draw numbers sold, the bigger the prize fund!), but it is proposed that this will be 40% of the amount invested in the BDS Sponsors 200 Club. For example, if there are 200 members this will produce an income of £5,000 per annum (1st November to 31st October) and a prize fund of £2,000 to be split into First, Second and Third prizes - £500, £350, £150 (twice a year).

The winning draw numbers will be drawn at the BDS Show at Smith’s Lawn in June (first draw) and then at Driving Towerlands in October (second draw). A list of winners will be posted in the BDS Newsletter and also published on the BDS website. Individual notification will be by email/telephone.
