SHETLAND PONY STUD-BOOK SOCIETY

DRIVEN PERFORMANCE AWARDS SCHEME

Do you own a Registered Shetland Pony? Do you drive him/her? Would you like to drive? Would you like to meet other like-minded people?

The Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society’s Driven Performance Awards Scheme is open to all who drive a Registered Shetland Pony. A small annual fee covers the membership and this enables you to take part in a competition, which runs from 1st November until 31st October. You can gain points for just about everything you, your pony, your groom, your junior groom, your junior whip, your disabled whip, your intermediate whip or your veteran whip can achieve! At the end of the year all the points are added up and trophies and rosettes (up to 5th place for all sections apart from junior section and then the rosettes go to 10th place) are awarded at an annual lunch. The lunch takes place in January by Junction 15 of the M6 at Newcastle-under-Lyme, thus giving everyone a chance to be there. All this for £10.00 per turnout.

Our members take part in just about every form of driving activity - Private Drive, HDT, rallies, picnics, driving weeks, RDA, demonstrations, charity activities, long reigning and hunting. So there is something for everyone. We have a member who drives everything from a single to six in hand! We have members from Aberdeen in the North to Sussex in the South and also Northern Ireland.

For those of you who do not have a pony at present there is “The Friends of the SPSB-S Driven Performance Awards.” Just send the Secretary some second-class stamps and you will receive all the information of what is going on. Come and help at shows, etc. and attend the presentation lunch – you would be most welcome.
