The first BDS-Trec championship in September 2005 was contested by twelve qualified turnouts from as far afield as Somerset and Yorkshire.

Phase one, the Safety presentation ably judged by Rosemary Neale, gave a starting score out of 50 points. Each turnout was then sent out on a short timed drive, followed by six `skills` as phase three.

Sponsored by V-Bandz Ltd, manufacturers of high class florescent wear, this competition has been deemed a great success and one which the BDS hope will continue to grow in years to come.

The eventual winners were Jeanette Standen with Georgie Bilborough grooming, from Royston ,Herts., whose Welsh Sec D was unflappable throughout each section.

Kath and Brian Worrell with their 27 year old pony Henry were second, surely proving that this is the type of competition for all types, sizes and all ages.
