THE GOLDEN JUBILEE BDS Jubilee Driving Show The famous Unex Towerlands Arena in Braintree, Essex is to become the home of a new two day show for driving enthusiasts. Plans are under way to create a show which the BDS hopes will feature something for everyone, so put the dates in your diary - 29th & 30th September 2007. What better way to celebrate 50 years of the Society. To become known as the Jubilee Driving Show, it will include the Osborne Refrigerators BDS National Championships which all acknowledge have outgrown the facilities available at Burghley. This move will also enable the expansion of the series, in particular the young driver and exercise vehicle categories. The Hackney Horse Society ran its prestigious championships at Towerlands in September and has confirmed that the Championships will be part of this new show. Getting to Towerlands is easy – being just off the A120 link to the M11. With two 100m outdoor all-weather arenas, an indoor arena surrounded by permanent seating and an exhibition hall for trade stands the facilities are available to enable the organisers to put together a full schedule of events which they hope will appeal to members. The schedule will not be confined only to those qualified for the Osborne and Hackney Championships, and with permanent stabling available the opportunity is there to ‘make a weekend of it’!
