ROSSETT VILLAGE FESTIVAL & DRIVE
Rossett Village Festival Committee have invited
our Area back again and would like us to do a procession through
the village aiming to arrive at 12:05 at the Festival. The
coach park at the front would again be available and there would
be room for up to 20 carriages. They have asked if I would take
my carriage into the main arena for a 10-minute demonstration
and talk about everything involved with BDS. This would raise
our profile and hopefully people will come around the carriage
to talk to members about their turnouts. Leaving at 13.00 for a
drive in the afternoon before returning to the parking area that
is to be confirmed |

HALL CARRIAGE MUSEUM 7pm – 9pm.
His Grace The Duke of Westminster has kindly
given permission for 25 members to visit the Eaton Hall
Carriages Collection.
The carriages in the Eaton Hall collection give visitors a good
idea of the range of horse drawn vehicles one would be likely to
have encountered in a country house stable-block a century ago.
The best London coachbuilders and local firms such as J.A.
Lawton & Co. of Liverpool and Chester and
Joseph Cockshoot & Co. of Manchester made many of the carriages
in the collection.
The cost of the visit
is £6.00 per person

Directions:
FROM NEWTOWN:
Entering Newtown from the
South, keep on the A489 until you reach the roundabout at
McDonald’s.
Turn left at the roundabout (keeping McDonalds on your left).Go
over the river bridge following signs for the hospital. Take the
fifth turning on the right (opposite the Bell Hotel). Carry on
up the hill out of Newtown for approx. 6 miles.The entrance to
Gregynog is sign-posted on the left just before the village of
Tregynon.
FROM WELSHPOOL:
Head
towards Newtown on the A483 for approx. 4 miles. Turn right
towards Berriew (B4390).In
Berriew village take the second turning on the left, sign posted
Bettws Cedewain 5 miles.In Bettws follow the road round to the
right (keeping the New Inn pub on your right) sign-posted
Tregynon 2.5 miles.At the next T junction the entrance to
Gregynog is sign posted straight opposite
