FLINTSHIRE
COUNTY COUNCIL
The
Council has recently attracted funding under the
Rural Development Plan for Wales for the Linking
Flintshire’s Communities Project, the overall
purpose of the project is to improve existing,
and to create new, links between communities in
the rural part of Flintshire.
BDS North East Wales is
keen that carriage drivers are not forgotten
and have some opportunities in mind to put
forward
A) track we are clearing on March 5th
which would link up to Rhosesmor,
B) around Kinnerton,
C) Rhydtalog that would link up with Nerqwys and
the top of Llanfyndd known as uwch y myndd and
D) the Caerwys area.
If
anyone has any routes in mind with suitable
parking areas or just need a bit of work, let
Janet
or
Edwina know so we can get together and
come up with a clear objective of what we
require.
So please be positive on as this is an
opportunity to be at the beginning to get routes
suitable for our needs and not to be forgotten
which has happened in the past.

| CARRIAGE DRIVERS ACCESSING
WELSH WOODLANDS AC Janet has
written to the
Minister for Rural Affairs
asking for her help & assurance that carriage
drivers are included and not excluded from the Welsh Assembly Government Woodlands
and there are more opportunities to have
designated free routes through the Welsh
Forests. I have received a copy from Ms D M
Westlake FCW/WAG Liaison Officer which is very
disappointing that in Wales there are 2 forests
where carriage drivers do not have to pay and
all other forests which are suitable we need to
pay a permit fee.

If you feel
after reading the 2 letters that we should have
the same access as horse riders, walkers and
cyclists please write to the Minister
sending a copy to your local Assembly member, |
