Doune and Dunblane - 5th July 2008 |
I have to admit that Doune and Dunblane is one of my favourite shows on the calendar, it is always a friendly show and the committee always do all they can to make sure that we are well catered for. So a big thank you to them for putting on a fantastic event once more. This year it was pleasing to see a good number of entrants again in the driving classes. It is the second year that the show has held an exercise vehicle class and as always it was fantastic to see this class being so well supported with many familiar faces. The winner of this class was Jean Wren driving her charming grey welsh pony Damley Branwen. The Private Driving class had four entrants forward and it was wonderful to see Elma Cunningham driving her lovely donkey Taponoth Seonaid, it is always a wonderful sight to see a donkey competing and a great chance for spectators to see that Carriage Driving is a sport open to all equines. The winner of the Private Driving class was JD’s El Diablo Driven by Kim Pearson-Miller. A big thank you to our judge on the day Joyce Simpson. We hope to see as many if not more competitors supporting this show again next year. PRIVATE DRIVING:1st J.D’s El Diablo – Kim Pearson-Miller EXERCISE CLASS: 1st Damley Branwen - Jean Wren |
