Turriff Show Report - 3nd August 2008 |
August is always a busy month and with events so close together you feel like you never get a break, but it is all worth it! After Perth show on Saturday some gluttons for punishment (my wife being one of them) made the trek up to Turriff, which is always a fantastic event to compete at with great classes, a good number of stalls and fantastic ring entertainment it is well worth the travel to. This year it was great to see all the classes being well supported with the exercise class becoming very popular with entrants we had six forward for the exercise class and it was great to see three of those competitors being juniors our judge on the day Ann Varley gave them all some very helpful tips to help along their driving. The winner of this class was Helen Hunter driving her strapping Gelderlander Nelson following on from her success at last years Turriff show Helen also took the championship this year. Congratulations Helen and Nelson! The winner of the Private Driving class was Barry Cork driving his exquisite welsh pony Maesgwyn Hilltopper. Barry and Maesgwyn Hilltopper were also reserve champions. Well done to all winners. A big thank you has to go to the Turriff show committee for organising such a wonderful event they can never do enough for you which we are all very much appreciative of we look forward to next years Turriff show and hope to see as many if not more competitors supporting the show.
