The BDS Annual Show, held at Smith's Lawn in the magnificent surroundings of Windsor Great Park, is the annual gathering of the membership where they compete against each other in a variety of showing classes. It is now firmly established as one of the prestige equestrian sporting events in the British season and culminates in the Brewin Dolphin Supreme Show Championship and parade in front of the Royal Box.

The Show also supports the Sanders Watney Trust, the registered charity set up by the British Driving Society to help disabled people drive horses and ponies.

Throughout the day, competition takes place in four arenas. Over 350 horses and carriage turnouts compete in private driving competitions for all levels of driving enthusiast, from the single novice to coachmen with their magnificent teams of four horses.

40 classes and 8 Championships include qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show and the Hackney Horse of the Year. Young carriage drivers have their own classes, culminating in the in the Voice Products Young carriage driver Championship. Other classes include the Sealmaster World & Rare Breeds, R. Bass & Co. Hackneys, the Light Trade Championship and the Truckbusters Concours d'Elegance. There are even classes for donkeys and mules.

Everyone is welcome to visit the Show, whether or not they are members of the British Driving Society. There is ringside parking for spectators to watch the show from the comfort of their own cars and grandstands for those on foot. Visitors can pre-book ringside car park passes or pay on the day for general parking.

A friendly, relaxed atmosphere combined with beautiful horses, ponies and carriages, trade stands, a members' marquee serving luncheon and other catering outlets all come together at Smiths Lawn to provide an unforgettable day for the driving enthusiast.
