
Osborne Refrigerators Ltd. are the sponsors of the
BDS National Championships.
Over 100 qualifiers take place throughout the season
with the finals culminating at a new venue at the Unex
Towerlands Arena in Braintree, Essex
The Championships are known as the
Osborne Refrigerators BDS
National Championships. The move of the Osborne Refrigerators BDS National
Championships finals to Towerlands (3rd & 4th
October) has enabled the expansion of the series. It
will now be divided into four sections: Private Driving,
Light Trade, Exercise Vehicles and Young Drivers.
The full rules will be printed in the 2009 Yearbook but
the type-sections will be as follows:-
- Single hackney-type
- Single non-hackney type (excluding purebred
Registered Welsh) over 13.2hh
- Single non-hackney type (excluding purebred
Registered Welsh) 13.2hh & under
- Single Country Turnout
- Single purebred Registered Welsh Cobs – Section D
- Single purebred Registered Welsh Ponies – Section C
- Single purebred Registered Welsh Ponies - Sections A
& B
- Single Registered Mountain & Moorland (excluding
purebred Registered Welsh)
- Pairs & Tandems - Open. Any height.
- Two-wheel Light Trade
- Four-wheel Light Trade
- Single Turnout driven to a two-wheel exercise
vehicle.
- Single Turnout driven to a four-wheel exercise
vehicle.
- Pair put to a four-wheel exercise vehicle.
- Single turnout driven to a traditional type vehicle
by a young driver aged 10 – 14 years
- Single turnout driven to a traditional type vehicle
by a young driver aged 15 – 17 years
- Single turnout driven to an exercise vehicle by a
young driver aged 10 – 14 years
- Single turnout driven to an exercise vehicle by a
young driver aged 15 – 17 years
