Pairs marathon carriage

Stolen on 22 May 2009 from Reading - a dark blue pairs marathon carriage with pale blue lining (this has been over-sprayed in a few areas). A pair of galvanised shafts with black spray on were also stolen that fit it, but the spanner to remove the pole base is specialised & they didn't get that, so they might not be able to remove the pole-fitting easily.

Black vinyl seats and silver-galvanised foot-plates & double-tiered backstep. The rear seats lift up to open 2 storage areas at the back. It has adjustable delayed steering and an adjustable sprung drivers seat. There is a turntable brake that operates from under the vehicle. It has 2 brake pedals (without any rubbers on) and the front brake pads have been removed.

A full size Zilco Empathy collar with ring-end traces and quick-release fittings on the collar were also taken, plus a ex-large galvanised dog cage.

If you have any information or are offered these items, please contact Whitchurch Police on 08450 454545, quoting crime ref: 44090220952, or email Vicky Irwin on vickyirwin@lineone.net

Three vehicles were stolen. The first one is a Polish 3 phase single pony marathon vehicle for an 11.2 pony. The carriage is blue and burgundy with burgundy coach lines, the vehicle has pneumatic wheels and was stole with the pole to convert to a pairs carriage.

The second vehicle was a Hartland three phase marathon horse vehicle. This was black with red coach lines and at the time it was stolen did not have any brakes fitted as they had been removed due to a fault.

The third vehicle was a Dick Carey 3 phase marathon vehicle. It was green with yellow coach lines and used for a 13.2 pony. I do have photographs of each of these vehicles which have also been used in posters we have prepared and submitted to the police.

Each carriage has distinguishing marks that are known to the owners which would make them recognisable.

2007
Cob Gelding
Toby, 14.3hh heavy tri coloured gypsy cob gelding, stolen from Telford, Shropshire on 1st June 2006.

Aged 16+, mainly white with bay markings which turn roan in summer. The only black areas are a patch on his left knee, a small streak in his forelock by left ear and a small tuft on his withers. White mane, tail, feather and forelock. Very pretty face. Was lame with arthritis in his right shoulder when taken. Very gentle natured, didn't like tractors. He is very heavily built, he wasn't cut until age 12, so could be mistaken for a stallion at first glance. Toby is microchipped.

If anyone sees him or knows of his whereabouts then please, please contact me or the police. I just want him to come home. He is desperately missed and I need to know he is safe.

Please phone 01952 594846 or contact Malinsgate Police Station on 08457 444888, crime ref is 22GA/41284Y/06, incident number 214.N.020606.

Carriages and Trailer
Stolen on the night of Wednesday 14th November 2007 from Andover:

Dartmoor Spirit – Burgundy with cream coach lines and Brass furniture. To fit 13.2hh pony as single, or smaller pony pair. The most distinguishing feature on the vehicle is that it is the only Dartmoor to have been fitted with grease nipples on the shackle pins (ends of the springs).

Sierakowski Sport Break – presentation vehicle, to fit 13.2hh pony pair. Black with silver coach lines, and silver furniture. Serial number 178-05. This sport break has a dashboard which I believe, most don’t.

Small trailer – Brenderup Bravo 750kg trailer serial number 780331 complete with winch on the front and boards screwed to the floor at the edge.

The thieves were only after carriages as they moved a ride-on mower out of the way to get to one. They knew exactly what they were after as they took all the accessories for the Dartmoor and left behind other bits belonging to different vehicles that were in a different location. We think they only took the trailer as a means to taking one of the carriages.

If you hear anything on any of the above please contact Hampshire Police on 02380 674111. Crime number 44070529398.
