Following
VOSA's intention to bring in more regulations that will affect
horsebox drivers, Mr John Parker has already acted on behalf of
BDS members and the horse 'industry'.
Last week Mr John Parker has had a meeting with Sir Michael Lord
his local MP and Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, and as
a result Sir Michael has already written to VOSA and the
Minister for Transport for their comments.
Mr Parker said the crux of the matter is that "the welfare of
the horse is at stake".
For further information please read the article on page 4 of
the Horse and Hound 2nd April 2009 edition or go on their web

If you have been stopped by a VOSA inspector they would like to
hear about it. Email

with brief details of the incident.
Further to discussions at the
AGM we would ask you all to lobby your MP regarding VOSA's
interpretation of the driving regulations. Please use the sample
letter -
