Driving Digest – Essex & North London

Essex & North London area

Organised by AC Eunice Hopton & husband Roger, the annual area show at the excellent venue of Ashfields Carriage Driving & Polo Centre was well supported on 12th June 2016 with many splendid turnouts in attendance.
There were classes for everyone whether you drove a Shetland or a Gelderlander , or competed in an exercise vehicle, wagon , trade trolley or private gig.
Mr John Walker travelled from Lincolnshire to judge , Mr Les Lee took on ring steward duties ,Mr Robert Shave from Stowmarket was the Farrier judge for the day and BDS chairman Ms Angela Sixsmith was persuaded to judge the Concours d`elegance towards the end of the schedule.

Some difficult decisions had to be taken by Mr Walker, with such a high standard throughout and despite some rain, those decisions sometimes depended on the smallest detail.
Huge congratulations to all the class winners and those that qualified during the day for the Osborne Refrigerators BDS Championships at Driving Addington on Saturday 24th September.
The show champion was Steve Watts from the Light Trade class with his lovely roan cob Trixies Brenin Gwalia  and Jean Clayden`s young Welsh Sec A pony Cosford Izziwotnot driven as usual by Jessie Dudley Appicella took the Reserve spot.
