Held at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, near Buckingham MK18 2JR

The BDS Carriage Driving Championship Show

It is with deep regret that we have no alternative but to cancel our Championship show which was scheduled to take place on the 10th October.

Despite a number of challenges emerging over recent weeks, including the Addington venue cancelling we were still planning to go ahead with the choice of two other superb venues available to host our event. However, this morning’s announcement from the Government implementing revised guidelines in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and in particular more stringent guidelines around sporting events, leaves no option other than to cancel.

We fully realise how disappointing this is for our members and the wider carriage driving fraternity.

We would like to thank all the generous sponsors who came forward, the volunteers who offered their support for stewarding and other activities, the Judges, and all the many people who had submitted entries – we are truly grateful and hope we can count on your support for 2021.

Please be assured that any monies which have been paid will be refunded in full.

Stay safe and we look forward to meeting up with you all as soon as we can.

2020 will see a different look to our Championship show at Addington Equestrian Centre due to the restrictions for most of the season but there will be a class for everyone and an emphasis on fun.

There are in hand classes if your equine isn’t quite ready for driven class and if you have a novice turnout, you will not lose novice status for 2021 .

If you have not competed in showing classes before, you can try the Introduction class where the judge will talk you through what to do and give you lots of advice before you take the plunge.

The British Scurry Trials group will be giving demonstrations throughout the day and there will be a BDS Trec style competition.

The schedule includes all the regular showing classes alongside Hackneys and Welsh in Wagons culminating in the gala championship at the end of the day. Who will take this converted title in what has been a very strange season for us all.
